Don Linscott
Chief Operating Officer and Founding Principal
“Lifestyle Stewardship recognizes that God’s primary interest is in people, not pocketbooks. At the same time, people’s devotion to God is always reflected in the stewardship of daily life. Stewardship is the intersecting point between the Lordship of Christ and the Lifestyle of the Christian.”
A founding partner of Generis and a full-time fundraiser since 1984, Don Linscott has long had an abiding interest in Christian stewardship. Don first led his own churches through successful capital campaigns during his 18 years of church ministry. Since 1984, when he embraced stewardship as a full-time ministry, he has directed more than 200 campaigns for a total of $500 million raised. And while he's worked with some of America's largest and most prestigious churches, Don is just as gratified to help small churches achieve their financial goals.
An effective communicator and inspiring speaker, Don is known for his warm and personable style. As the creative force in developing the concept of Lifestyle Stewardship, Don has authored the curriculum which is so central to the ministry of Generis today. An innovator in church fundraising, he has been instrumental in mentoring people (both clients and consultants) and developing strategies that respect the individual style and sensitivities of each congregation or parish.
Don believes the local church is God’s chosen instrument for growing His Kingdom on earth and that adequate funding is essential to fulfill that purpose. He knows the challenges of mounting a successful giving program can place an overwhelming demand on the staff and leaders of the church. At the heart of his calling is his desire to help the local church appreciate and apply the principles of biblical stewardship and achieve its God-given goals.
Don and his family live in the Atlanta area where they enjoy tennis, swimming, and motorcycling.
