Kurt Kiesling

“At the heart of stewardship is a person’s relationship with Christ—making money a deeply spiritual issue. Sooner or later people realize that giving is not about the church’s 'need' but about their personal need, their need to give.”

Kurt Kiesling understands the awe-inspiring opportunity before the church—to use a capital campaign as the catalyst for helping people grow in their faith. With more than 20 years in the ministry, Kurt is an ordained pastor who has served churches in California and Hawaii. As a pastor, he desires to see people go deeper—in prayer, in community, in giving.

As an excellent listener, speaker and teacher, Kurt is experienced in serving contemporary, missional and multi-site churches, yet he acknowledges that every church body is unique, and there can be no “one-size-fits-all” approach to stewardship. The many unique experiences God has afforded him (“posts” is how he refers to them) have prepared Kurt for the challenge of tailoring campaigns to each church’s unique needs and culture.

Kurt has a good handle on both sides of the stewardship coin. He’s worked as a licensed, personal investment advisor with a large Fortune 500 company—and as a missionary and international director of a ministry that trained church leaders in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe to disciple young people. He understands the importance of “cultivating major gifts” to accomplish the work of God’s kingdom.

Kurt, his wife Elke and their two young sons Kai (age 9) and Kory (age 6) live in Northern California. In his spare time Kurt loves spending time with his family (especially out on Lake Tahoe) and just recently “traded in” his surfboard for a set of used golf clubs.
