Joe Brand
“As a follower of Christ, I must learn to conform every area of my life to the contours of the Gospel. I cannot pretend that my life is my own. I am bought with a price. Nowhere is this more challenging than in my stewardship of resources. How I invest the talents and treasures of God for His kingdom reveals much about my conformity to the Gospel. At Generis, we strive to deepen the understanding of churches and their members around this basic truth.”
With the passion of a missionary and the wisdom of an elder, Joe comes to the Generis team with over twenty-five years of ministry experience. Joe’s call to the ministry began with Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC). Joe served in Southern California and throughout Asia with CCC, sharing the gospel through personal evangelism and the use of the Jesus film. After completing a Master of Arts in Student Development at Azusa Pacific University, he held staff and faculty positions at Biola University and Huntington College.
After several years of working with students, Joe moved to Atlanta to join Mission to the World, the mission-sending agency of the Presbyterian Church in America. There he oversaw the pre-field training of all missionaries. Joe worked with these men and women to help in constructing their stories of faith and advising them on how to raise the funds necessary to begin their work. Joe also followed these missionaries in their work and continued to coach and encourage them during their commitments. As Training Director, Joe was able to train over 600 missionaries in his tenure at Mission to the World. After eleven years with MTW, Joe joined the staff at Perimeter Church as the Pastor to Mid-Adults. He provided pastoral care to the largest demographic of the church and assisted in organizing small group programs.
Joe, his wife and four children live in the Atlanta area. In his spare time, Joe enjoys reading and gardening.
