Larry Armentrout, CFRE

"The greatest challenge for every ministry is to outline their project—defining its true purpose and the plan for completing it—and then act. Ministries sometimes spend years trying to make decisions. The pivotal moment occurs when church leaders stand up and say, ‘let’s do it.""

Helping ministries reach that defining moment when they can articulate and project their vision for growth is what drives Larry Armentrout. The other half of his mission is helping them follow-through and deliver—and he’s been gratified to guide ministries through the sometimes awkward stages of change, even as they experience victorious growth. Serving over 100 clients in his tenure at Generis, he remembers a church relocation effort he assisted in which the church doubled in size soon after occupying its renovated space.

With excellent organizational and relationship skills, Larry is an accomplished and trusted counselor, helping diverse church bodies and faith-based organizations engage in building campaigns, debt retirement, endowment building, mission projects, anniversary campaigns, and budget-renewing annual fund drives. A Certified Fund Raising Executive and graduate of the National Planned Giving Institute at the College of William and Mary, Larry adds years of local church ministry experience to his 19 years in fundraising.

Larry holds a BA in Religion as well as an MA in Religion and English from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. He spent four years in the U.S. Marine Corps and seven years as a business entrepreneur prior to his current career. An Ohioan, he and his wife Gay are blessed with Eric, Julie, Jamie and granddaughter Madison Olivia.
